Pacific Pale Ale, a NEW year-round 6-pack

Big things have been happening in Astoria this year. January 2021 officially kicked off our largest expansion project to date. After years of planning, the building across the parking lot, formerly Video Horizons, became available and the question of where we were going to brew more beer was answered. An extension of a brewery across the Astoria Riverwalk took some consideration. When plans to create a brewing facility in one building and packaging facility in the other connected by a beer bridge above the heads of Riverwalk pedestrians came to light, we knew we had something special that stayed aligned with the magic of our place.

Over the past 7 years things have never really slowed down around here. We have stayed driven to constantly analyze, pivot, and grow. We’re forever on the quest to make delicious, quality beer and innovate in new ways to keep our beer drinkers happy. Creating a fresh new beer with a balance of tropical hops and sessional malt bill was top of the list for the brewers. Fast forward 9 months as we release our 4th year-round packaged beer, Buoy Pacific Pale Ale will join year-round cans Buoy IPA, Czech Pilsner, and Cream Ale as a hoppy, low-ABV choice coming in at 5%.

Fresh, citrusy, and tropical, Buoy Pacific Pale Ale carries you away to where the ocean is limitless, the mountains are painted, and the back yard is filled with forests and streams. Balanced with bright tropical Citra, Cashmere, and El Dorado hops and a subtle malt bill, Pacific Pale captures the wonderland of the Pacific Northwest.

“Before they were called session IPAs, fresh, hoppy, low-ABV beers were called pale ales,” says Matt Jones, Head Brewer. “This pale ale takes the classic NW hop bitterness and balances it with bright aromas. Personally, I also get a little strawberry and myrcene in the aromas coming off the can.”

Buoy Pacific Pale Ale will be available in 6-packs of 12oz cans distributed in Oregon & Washington.
