When it comes to summer, there’s nothing better than sunshine, friends, fresh air, and of course, an IPA. But not just any old IPA. An IPA that’s full of flavor but easily drinkable; hoppy but not in your face; bold but refreshing. This year, Buoy’s Easy IPA checks all the boxes of a summertime IPA.
This golden-colored IPA is bursting with berry and earthy aromas and hopped with a trifecta of locally grown Citra, Estate Comet, and Azacca hops. Its smooth, rounded flavor pairs perfectly with an outdoor walk or a hike in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

One of the most amazing things about our area is the more than 4,700 waterfalls that flow throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. This summer, we encourage you to discover a new waterfall hike (and quench your thirst afterwards with an Easy IPA)!
Location: Gold Bar, WA
Length: 4.9 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
About an hour from Seattle, Wallace Falls actually features nine waterfall drops in one! This family-friendly hike in Wallace Falls State Park leads you down Woody Trail and through lots of lush vegetation. Along the way, you’ll see views of the Lower Falls, Middle Falls, Upper Falls, and the Wallace River.

A quick hike downhill takes you to a viewing platform in front of this beautifully complex waterfall in Cason, WA. Panther Creek Falls is one of the more unique waterfalls in the area and features two tiers of 100-foot cascades that trickle almost hypnotically over a cliff.
Location: Silver Falls State Park, OR
Length: 7.4 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Just 35 minutes East of Salem is Silver Falls State Park, which features 10 different waterfalls. While this loop takes you past all 10 falls, there is an option for a shorter loop (Winter Falls Loop) which takes you past seven falls and is only 4.8 miles.

With 90+ waterfalls in the Gorge, it’s impossible to choose just one. However, the unique landscape of Wahclella Falls near Cascade Locks is one of our favorites. The trail takes you through shady wilderness, a dam, wildflowers, and even15-million-year-old basalts to the two-tiered 350-foot waterfall.

Just over the Oregon border is this short, family-friendly hike to Jump Creek Falls. The trail travels through a narrow canyon dotted with handfuls of hidden caves. At the end, you’ll find the 50-foot waterfall streaming over a rock wall and as a bonus, the basin below is perfect for a summertime swim!
Easy IPA Featured Hop: Estate Comet
Buoy’s Easy IPA is a classic West Coast-style IPA that features Pacific Northwest-grown Estate Comet hops. Though the Comet hop dates back to the 1960s, it wasn’t available publicly until the early 1980s. Since then, Comet has been a popular hop variety for growers and Crosby Hop Farm has put their own “estate” spin on it.
Grown on their 600-acre family farm in the Willamette Valley, Crosby’s Estate Comet hops feature “new wave aromas such as melon and cantaloupe coupled with classic notes of sweet citrus and floral bouquet.” These Estate Comet hops are nicely balanced by the bright, citrusy, tropical notes of both Citra and Azacca hops to complete the Easy IPA hop trifecta.
